Talk of new Balakala railroad

Mining interests, seeing the continuing rise in the value of metals, are considering building a railroad south from Lakehead CA. 17 miles south to Iron Mountain along the Balaklala Range. It will connect to UP at Lakehead. No word whether smelters will be located nearby. This area is considered the premier copper mining area in the U.S.
