The 2467 is correct for post 1946 lettering and numbering. Southern Pacific did use nickel plated numbers and lettering on a number of locomotives back in the 1920's. Some of the 0-6-0 switchers retained their nickel plated numbers to the end of their days. However, the 2472 did not have such numbers or lettering after 1946, and I do not know if it ever had cast numbers or lettering back in the 1920's. I am not aware of any locomotives, except some 0-6-0's, that had cast numbers after 1930.
