The only thing in "Chrome" (SS) were on station switchers, that I recall. SP wanted the public to see a washed and clean engines. They usually had SS engine numbers, some with spelled out Southern Pacific. I think there were a few with the Sunset herald too. Again, spit & polish for the public.
