This was a lot easier to do years ago before every locomotive had forward facing cameras installed, and before automatic notification was sent to everyone and their mother every time a train went into emergency. As an engineer, you hope and pray that you will never let yourself get into a jackpot like that, but being human and imperfect as we are, it will happen to some of us sooner or later. Thankfully, it is rare, and hopefully, no harm, no foul. If PTC lives up to all of its claims, these events will someday be a thing of the past.
