I was on Amtrak 713 yesterday on a trip from Fresno to Martinez. Shortly after our stop in Madera, Ca the radio cracked and the conductor ask the engineer to call the dispatcher and to have the dispatcher call Merced Police. When ask what the problem was the conductor said a passenger had told the conductor if the train did not speed up he was going to stab the conductor when he got off the train in Merced.

When we arrived in Merced the police were there and boarded the train. After a 30 minute delay the passenger was removed from the train. I talked to the conductor later and he told me the police did not arrest the passenger, they just removed him from the train.

I think this jerk broke a federal law about messing with a train crew. So why was he not arrested??
