When you get the cancer or black lung from mining that coal, and that starts making you one of the "less fortunate", from the number one cause of individual economic "misfortune" in life, health problems, I certainly hope that there is "karma". And, I sure hope that "karma" you put out will make all of the other resentful, spiteful, and mean little dicks like you, just as dickish toward you, as you are, to those less fortunate than yourself, now.

I think that there's even something in the good book about this... "There, but for the grace of god, goes "less fortunate" folks, like you or I......"?

As to the "less fortunate" bus or transit rider, I used to listen to folks use the word "transit dependent", or "unemployed" used to describe transit riders. I banned the word with my staff, and required the word "customer" to be used. I found folks too often used pejorative terms that implied negative "assumptions" about their customers. These terms also propagated myths, like that transit users did not have access to vehicles, education, and employability. But, in a rather embarrassing survey done by the old RTD, we found that nearly 90% of bus customers had access in their household to a car (and were, in fact, not "dependent" of transit), that though lower in income strata, that they were more likely to work than the population as a whole, and more likely to be attending a school or college than the population as a whole. So much for the stereotypes

Bus riders, it turns out, want reliable, frequent, and faster service, just like "customers" of other transportation services, and more discretionary riders of all income types are more likely to use rail, because rail is usually more reliable, frequent, and faster service.

As usual, the lower caliber crap spewed by some of the "less fortunate" posting on subjects like this is always very entertaining and quite informative to observe.....
