back in the old days (pre tri-met),
busses and trolleys were the only
public transportation, and it was
dieing on the vine, buses and trolleys were empty even during
commute hours, the only line that
actually had passengers was the
line from downtown to lloyd center
(which had just opened) the only
bus that ran after midnight was the
burnside, getting off at 0400 gave
me the 8 block walk to burnside and
after getting off at 30th, another
7 blockwalk to belmont (whose bus
stopped running at 2200, and the
grand total for the late run burnside was 3 bodies every day on
that partucular run, it wasn't until
after i returned to the city, that
the powers that be, woke up and
started thinking public transportation seriously
