I too am a California Native, and traveled the Golden State extensively during my 30+ years living there. I too love the scenery around the Inside Gateway, at least South of Bieber. Quincy, Mt. Lassen & Shasta areas are beautiful as well. My dislike is for the Modoc Valley to the East, from Alturas down to Wendel, CA. I do believe CA. Dept. of Corrections should build a state prison without fences in the valley, as no one would survive longer than a day if they walked away !!!
