The west leg of the surf wye was always in bad shape. We were going to wye a "Flower Train" there once but were told, no way.
I thought Vandenburg still got cars, way down inside at Tangair. The AF always had the joints oiled, tightened and the switches all in gauge. You could do 35 and it was like the main line. Too bad.
The track at South Vanderburg was restricted. We set cars out and picked them up. They had to leave a AF engine there. The grade was way too steep and SP refused to go up that hill to the silos.
