It might have actually been used as a "union station" before the Colorado Midland failed.

San Diego also was a union station also serving SD&A/SD&AE not to mention the original trolley. There are plenty of other stations people don't realize or have forgotten served more than one carrier, either as a guest or in joint ownership.
