1. Halfway between Omaha and Sacramento.
2. Close enough to do the only 2 scheduled runs: Dever to Cheyanne in July, and the Omaha Baseball series.
3. Cold weather is better for the units than monsoon season of Texas And Arkansas
4. It is just far enough from Omaha to do things that are just barely on the edge of insubordination, but close enough to impress people who have no clue how a steam locomotive works.
5. Great place to bury a crew member along the row after being yelled and demeaning by Special Ed. Know one would now....white truck, hard hat, shovel, safety vest. More crimes are committed in broad daylight that way.
6. Great place to go hunting.
