Appreciate location reply. No the only place I ever saw the NN 100 was in Oakland in the 1930's..I had the pleasure of a personal inspection. The attendant was especially proud of the expensive table setting. And I recall the Virginia City under the tall trees in Carson City.. Also seeing the Pioneer Zephyr on display in Oakland and first City of SF. Also not too happily the first diesel in W. Oak. SP 1000 switcher.. Other memories being on beach watching at Rio Nido watching trains go by and sadly, watching them take up NWP track thru Mirabel Park (Forestville) ..Being 93 yrs old also riding the Overland Ltd on way to Chgo the amazing experience of loading the train on ferry to Benecia..and the delight of finding barber and bathtub in the obs car. Trains on Hopkins St. Berkeley.. Riding the first shipyard train.the last NWP 14 car deadhead from San Rafael to Sausalito. The last excursion 2-13-38 in driving rain. 3 Niles cars Vallejo to Napa and return.. The first west coast fan trips, Oakland to Grass Valley on NCNG $4. May 1937. then .Sierra RR, Pacific Coast RR joint with fans from L.A. V &T trips.. etc The last UIC out of Preston in 46 The last BRR in 52, Seeing the last 5 D&
RGW steamers leaving SLC..believe it was 1955. Riding over Marshall Pass on a speeder that week... The first IER over the bridge followed by the first SN SF to Sacto 1939 and the last in 41 .. Association closely with Vernon,Eldon and Art Lloyd and many others.. The last trolley..only one block run, Piedmont cemetery..==etc etc... Being a fan today seems to lack a great deal.
