Did Greyhound have employee timetables with special instructions such as "watch for a light on the shack at railroad crossing of US 395 in Litchfield, stop if lit?"

If not, how would a driver off the extra board know what that light meant?

Having flagged down many Greyhounds (often with extra board drivers), I'd hate to depend on that light on a cold winter night...
