Why not 20 mph? Or 10 mph? Or 5 mph? Which one is
safest?

If I understand it correctly, that line and that
curve have been there for over 100 years with no issues.

Think of how many other places nationwide that have the
same situation, yet this type of accident happens only
extremely rarely.

Why not require nets to capture trains that fly off the
outside of curves or fall off of bridges?

Heck; just stay home. That's the most dangerous place
on earth.
