It has been my understanding that Santa Cruz Big Trees is not interested in maintaining the entire line or servicing freight customers. The following was listed as their weakness when the RTC compared them to other operators.
Freight experience is not very strong; will only operate minimum service; will leave a portion of the line out of service and cannot ensure maintenance at Class 1.
