Or, that Amtrak is such a miniscule part of our government that schools see no reason to waste time talking about something in which statistically only one in 100 Americans even ride, just once (not a round-trip), each year.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't use an Interstate Highway (including the unsigned Interstates in Alaska and Puerto Rico) at least once a year... And statistically, each American has flown three trips on a U.S. flag carrier airline...
