I meant UP was charging a rate for switching and line haul that while high, was still lower than what it would have been for UP switching+BNSF line haul. they weren't betting on Tesla trucking to BNSF rails. My mistake, I could have worded that better.
Being that my source is from Uncle Pete, it's very possible I'm only getting one side of the story.
I can, however, confirm Tesla is already shipping with BNSF out of Richmond. I've seen them loading Teslas there with my own eyes. To what degree they are currently shipping I can't say, but there is work equipment being assembled on the west end of the yard, and it looks like all of the lighting at the old intermodal ramps has been replaced and/or upgraded.
