That's true of the first photo on the page, but not the rest. For the rest, you were right the first time.

The Smith Tower, visible in the photo, is North of King and Union Stations.

Of course it's essentially done heading north, as Union Station was a stub end terminal, and did not have access to the tunnel under Seattle like King Street does, so it's either at the end of the track, or real close to it.
