Given what we know so far about the Metrolink accident in Chatsworth, would any of these technologies have actually prevented this tragedy? I know cab signals would have alerted the engineer, but in this instance, when he left the station, would they have shown yellow or red?
As for ATS, when does this kick in? If it wouldn't have activated until he passed the red signal at CP Topanga, and with the short distance afterward to the collision point, would it have made a difference? What about the other technologies? As you can tell, I have no idea how any of this stuff works. Thanks in advance.
