Others can speak to the amount of traffic still going to Napa Junction, but it is still significant.

UP doesn't operate the line to Napa Junction, it's leased to California Northern. Has anybody heard CFNR complaining about lack of traffic?

Even if UP and/or CFNR wanted to abandon the line, the STB wouldn't look kindly on one railroad forcing the abandonment of another by severing it from the national system. At least, both NCRA and the Napa Valley Wine Train (as well as other interested operators) would have the opportunity to take over the line.
