I don't know about the FRA standards, but we are talking light rail here.

With an adequate design, it should work out well. Back in the 1990s there was a serious project for this glass fiber wound carbodies. The problem was that for this particular vehicle, the cutouts for doors and windows were too big, which weakened the structure.

The consequence was that they had to redesign the carbodies using aluminium, which lead to a considerable delay…
