Well all the paranoids will have something else to ponder. What Newsom has said (well, most recently) is that the northern section should be finished, an operator obtained and operation begun. Then the southern section can (probably) be done with some private money contributing to the pot.

Meanwhile, the State Rail Plan should be implemented... What? You aren't familiar with the State Rail Plan? Why it's what half the kibitzers here have been asking for... repeatedly.

Meanwhile Mr. Cox is opposed to rail. Any rail. It is a shibboleth required of all Republicans. Why? Well President Obama once said that high speed rail was a good idea. So did President Trump - but that doesn't count.
