that was an absolute classic example of two crews having fun working together and an example of how things in this world get done....it was NOT motivated by rail fans but was for a Barringer Library board of directors meeting in Tacoma and oh by the way some rail fan trips.....the key to getting these types of trips is to get the heavy hitters behind the idea. As Steve always said, align with corporate goals.
I will never forget visiting the UP consist in The Dalles and asking Reed Jackson, RIP, for a tour to see if there were any "bad order" seats we shouldn't sell......Reed got right in my face...."THERE ARE NO BAD ORDER SEATS IN THIS UP CONSIST". I still cherish our shirt trade. what a great fellow Arlen
