Bob, if you had the power and resources and authority, exactly how would you do that? Since the DT Junction is directly under Slauson Ave, it seems the only practical way without major line changes would be to lower the UP tracks under the BNSF tracks. I "THINK" there is enough room to have the track back to grade by Pioneer Blvd. Of course that would affect the Walker line, but is that even used? AND if that were done the connector from the Los Nietos branch to westbound Walker Line would never be able to be put back into operation.
