Fake news all around today.

California (and Florida) are in fact starting to work on waterfront upgrades to deal with rising sea levels. If you haven't seen the projects yet, you haven't looked (e.g., SF port seawall rehab). In other places, they've started talking (lawyers talking at each other, really) about managed retreat due to sea level rise wiping out beaches and accelerating cliff collapse. Oh yes, and OMG GLOBAL COOLING ICE AGE! is as much a myth as OMG VENUS SYNDROME!, in the near term (few hundred years) anyway. Doesn't mean the situation won't get somewhat dire in the short term (50-100 years) and could be mitigated (not eliminated - much of the short-term warming is already locked in) by some actions now.
