Cement plants formerly in Davenport and San Juan Bautista. The San Juan plant supplied most of the cement used in constructing the Hetch Hetchy dam and aqueduct system, also hauled on rails. Rails of the Santa Cruz Branch still reach the Davenport plant, but the plant has been shut down for many years. San Juan plant shut down around by the 1970s.

The Permanente plant and quarry mostly shut down since the company went bankrupt in 2016 due to lawsuits and environmental mitigation problems (including selenium releases to the creek and mercury emissions). Google street view (2016) shows a small cut of cement cars in the yard there, and the current satellite view (unknown date) has a few cars around. The
LehighHanson web site still shows cement products being available at the site.
