It is a largely whining BS article that has now successfully become a largely BS thread.
From these responses, half of you don't really know what you're talking about, (some of the usual suspects don't even pretend to.....). And the other half, the ones that do know something real, won't or don't really matter, to those responders who get their information from the voices about the vast evil conspiracies that they hear, when they're not wearing the "protective" tinfoil hats.
There's been plenty wrong with this "cost is no object"/"runaway money train", mostly in the planning, concepts of operation, and the resultant design scoping, that have indeed inflated (bloated???) many of the costs of this utter and complete CAHSRA fiasco. However, this clearance issue, which would appear to be in compliance with current standards on US electrification clearances, has nothing whatsoever to do with the myriad of things, that really got us into this mess.
