I actually did all the calculations of the health standards air quality emissions the CO2 reduction estimates, for the grant Indio was requesting to do the Park and Ride lot at this location (over 7 years ago), as a sub contractor to someone putting the grants together.
Spending on the runaway money train, has resulted in pushing projects like this back for years, due to lack of scarce funding. And now, many needed projects like this are likely to be further delayed due to the incompetence at CAHSRA which is undermining public confidence, and resulting in a loss of public support, when our politicians screw up, and waste taxpayer monies like that.
It's really a shame, too. Because, while we've been wasting billions on the "runaway money train", the very real gridlock we are all really facing, in our short and mid distance interurban corridors, is costing us all billions of dollars every year, in avoidable travel delay and operating related congestion costs.
