What else are you going to do with the ROW ? Doing nothing has worked pretty well the last 21 years .

Actually the medical pot is only now going into decline . Up until the passage of legal marijuana in 2018 growers used the medical loophole to avoid arrest. Now Humboltd county permit dept. is using google earth to find and eradicate growers who have not gotten costly permits.

The largest active mill that has asked the railroad to provide rail service is Mendocino Forest Products in Ukiah. If restoration of service were to begin Redwood Valley would most likely be the end point.

The cost to build and maintain the entire Great Redwood trail would be tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars .

Crime statistics matter. While i doubt Humboltd county's share of crime matches other large city's, it's "missing persons" stats are among the highest in the state.
