I completely agree. It is a shame so many people have taken the attitude that whatever happens it's somebody else's fault.
As a note, there was a quote attributed to the engineer that he had planned to slow down 1-mile from that curve, indicating he knew about it. More interestingly is that 1-mile from the point of derailment is the yard where they interchange into Fort Lewis, which would be a hard to miss landmark.
