They've always had 4 cars? since when? They have had 3 cars parked in front of their office for months and never saw a 4th car. Late in 2006 there was another passenger car parked in TR yard but no TR colors on it.
I see one now that looks like the same car but painted in red/white. It is just south (west) of the building.
My question is Why does Tacoma Rail have 3 passenger cars and 1 buffet car? Yeah I know, they used cars on the special excursion last spring for the rail group from back east. And they use the passenger cars for the September Port days when they give free train rides around their trackage at Port Of Tacoma...
But a buffet car too?
This railroad is losing money and TR has passenger cars. Doesnt make sense. I know originally when I saw the 3 rail cars and contacted a city council member about them, he was surprised they were purchased; said TR "snuck them in on the budget request"
Perhaps TR should focus on making their freight operations profitable vs getting ready to run a Train to the Mountain. They should focus on improving the track out to Fredrickson and get it up to a high speed all the way out instead of the piecemeal crap they've been doing.
