The main or hidden part (at least from the media standpoint) of the Picken's plan is intensified
drilling. His convert to natural gas for transport would be great except that we are domestically
about 60% short right now just for our own use (without transportation). Plus, the enviros are
blocking LNG ports everywhere they are proposed (The Oregon site is being opposed because of
possible "ground contamination"). We'll have 2,000 windmills between Iowa and Nebraska by then end
of next year and personally I think they're eyesores but as long as you're in an area of consistent wind they at least make electricity.
