If SMART passes, the hype will gradually give way to reality and the slapdash and irrelevance of this flawed scheme will become clearer with each passing year. Perhaps a SMART disappointmnt is a necessary part of the Northbay's learning experience on the way to a real mass transit system.

Both SMART and NWP-NCRA had better pray for a miraculous economic turnaround. If I read the history right the SP came close to outright abandoning the entire NWP in the mid thirties.
