What you had there was a now empty soy meal unit train that goes from Alberta, Canada to Modesto, CA and then back to Alberta, Canada.

It was a UP train at the time of the picture, the GMMVP2 22 to be exact.

When loaded the train is routed CN-BNSF-UP-MET to get to the destination in Modesto, CA. The CN moves it to British Columbia where it is handed off to the BNSF. The BNSF takes it to Lake Yard in Portland where it is handed off to the UP. The UP then takes it to Covell siding on the north side of Modesto, CA. From there the MET comes out with their own power and takes it to be unloaded. The train seems to usually have BNSF power, sometimes with some CN power mixed in as well.
