It isn't some 'highway lobby' conspiracy, it is residents pissed that long promised road projects keep getting reduced, put off or canceled.

If there's a conspiracy it is Leftist ideologue planners that overplay transit's abilities and refuse to recognize that roads play a role and are simply better solutions for some decentralized situations. They refuse to seek a common sense balance, because political urban planning is their religion. Cult is probably more accurate.

If the SANDAG planners had their way, the highway expansions would not be on the table at all.
