One of the people that I thought was not on the new board
it turns will be... Richard Tolmach.

Now I don't mean to cause a flap, but he just isn't good
for rail advocacy. His latest effort was to defeat High Speed Rail.

I'm a member of TRAC, but if he's in I'm out.

And there are others here in LA and the rest of California
that feel the same way.

========================

First of all, why is this even on this discussion board? This is TRAC
business and I can be reached at the TRAC office at 916-557-1667.

Fact: Richard Tolmach has been on the TRAC Board for many years and
he ran again and was elected. I am sure he has been on the board
continuously for over ten years and your comments are not appropriate.

Fact: Last term the TRAC Board voted 11-2-2 to support CA High Speed
Rail and you can see that endorsement on the Yes on Prop.1a website.
Look closely on Page 2 under the heading Transportation. Not only
will you see that TRAC and other "regional" transit groups publicly endorsed,
but one "statewide" group is missing.

Fact: You've made several comments about your desire to see
the TRAC Board work with other groups. The Board was elected
this past Saturday and has not even met. I can assure you
that the other 12 Board members support CA High Speed Rail
and will continue to do so and are willing to work with other
groups.

Again, you are an anonymous poster on a public discussion board
making comments about the internal workings of a large and
diverse organization. These concerns should be made by phoning
me directly at the TRAC office at 916-557-1667 to discuss your
ideas. You are also welcome to submit a Pros/Cons position paper
on any of your proposals to change the structure of the group
(should be about two pages) for consideration and presentation to
the TRAC Board which is scheduled to meet in January.

On behalf of the Board, we respectfully ask that you air your
concerns directly to our office. You may also mail any comments
directly to our physical office:
TRAC, 1025 Ninth St. #223, Sacramento, CA 95814-3516.
