For a bit of factual perspective around BOB2’s jeremiads, the $100 billion runaway train has just passed SIX billion spent. That’s right, we’re about 6 percent into this since the very beginning. If the six billion sunk has set California passenger rail back a whole ten years, then we’ve got a bigger problem than HSR taking too big a slice of the passenger rail pie: this pie is just way too small, and @#$%& about HSR ain’t gonna grow it.

Meanwhile, about 3 times that much is spent on California roads EACH YEAR.
