With #18 still sitting in the McCloud enginehouse, I had a conversation with Jeff Forbis about the possible problems with the locomotive on the rebuilt V&T. According to Forbis, the maximum curvature could only be 19 degrees and that number was verified by the paperwork from Baldwin.
Some of the curves on the Mound House to Gold hill section as well as the operating line to VC are 16 degrees. Supposedly, the political smart guys on the comission were aware of this little fact as well as the absolute idiocy of thinking they could use SP "subs" up there.

Another example of great thinking by political slugs.
