He insisted that the new track be laid in the CSRM to
HIS specifications, in spite of numerous warnings that
he was insisting the curve be sharper than it should be.
Whe he derailed 844's tender in the exact spot he had
been warned about, blocking the mainlines, he blamed the
derailment on the UP Western Region track people.
Who then had to spend a lot of money on overtime re-laying
that curve to the specs it would have have been before the
Steam God stuck his expert nose into it.
Paybacks are a @#$%&.
Funniest part was when he tried to lay the panels in the
parking lot at the fairgrounds to the same degree of curve
he insisted upon at SAC. The 4014 tender didn't like that
any more than 844 did, and they got the tender on the ground
in the parking lot.
