Had to imagine the days when Klamath Falls had one or more switch jobs.

As of a couple years ago, there was a single job based out of Klamath Falls that worked six days a week, which meant one day every two weeks it had an extra board crew due to hours of service. I don't recall the exact days they worked, but on Thursdays and Sundays they worked the remnants of the Modoc, typically running to Perez on Thursdays to interchange with Goose Lake Railway. On Sundays, they would work the Modoc, and only go to Perez if there were locals to pick up, but they wouldn't deliver because they didn't have time to switch out any cars the day before. The same crew also acted as the Klamath Falls switch engine. The other four days - they made two trips south and two trips north to interchange with Klamath Northern. Of course, this was all in theory as sometimes they died or had to dog catch another crew. Typical power was a pair of SD60s.

The pattern recently changed as I heard they now run to Alturas to meet Goose Lake, laying over, and returning to Klamath Falls on Friday. Also heard that they recently missed a Alturas trip because the power was being used in "snow service".

Not sure if UP handles any switching around Klamath Lake. That may be only a BNSF job that UP gets transfers from the BNSF yard.
