I take this stuff personally. We moved from Oregon to Washington D.C. in 1960. Even at a young age I had a keen interest in politics. I visited Oregon Senator Wayne Morse (another staunch opponent of the illegal Vietnam War) with my Grandmother in 1962. My Grandfather knew him personally. Mike Mansfield was Senate Majority leader then. I stood on the steps of the National Archive building in November of 1963 and watched the funeral cortege
of JFK on the way to Arlington. Saw LBJ thru the window of his limousine. This country has never been the same since 11/22/63.
