Heard they were retained for Business Passenger Trains

I was told that SP4450 and SP4451 were retained in the 1970s originally for pulling SP Business Passenger trains. I saw a couple of pictures taken by rail fan and retired Railroader Paul C
Kohler of the SP4450 on the point of a bunch of Business Cars in California back then.
This thread clarifys why I always saw them together just pulling 3 SP BiLevels in the 1980s
