Remember, the DRGW had the speed lettering. They bought the SP in 1988 or so. But the SP was the bigger road so the name was kept. However, the speed lettering was borrowed from the DRGW. As to the GP9 and SD9s, weren't those rebuilt in the GRIP in the early 80s? Knowing the SP of the late 80s and 90s as the Great Unwashed, they weren't getting painted.
