California, the land of the slab home. Our house in SoCal was a typical concrete slab home. Repeated earthquakes had cracked it though, and that was a boon to the tiny Argentine Brown Ants. Any sugar in the kitchen cabinets was quickly found by them. Had to sort of admire them in a way.
