Boeing/Vertol cars

Boeing / Vertol are very good at making airplanes but had absolutely NO idea of what a rail vehicle has to deal with. In addition to being designed as complete kludges for equipment access (remove the entire FRONT of the car to replace a light bulb; that sort of thing) they had no concept of low-frequency vibration. OK, so that doesn't exist in a 7X7 or helo - I'll give them a pass on that BUT someone should have at least picked up the damn phone and called Pullman or EMD or any other real railroad builder. Vibrations went through every part of the car and reduced it to a loose formation of parts sharing a paint job.
Needless to say they were designed as junk, built as junk, ran (ha!) as junk and went to the scrapyard with nary a tear shed.
