In Glasgow, Virginia -- in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the western part of the state -- the Norfolk Southern and CSX lines run within a mile of each other, and there is a connecting track between the two lines that allows trains to go from one railroad to the other.
If both railroads had locations named Glasgow, it would be confusing (to say the least) for dispatchers to give trains permission to use the connecting track between Glasgow and Glasgow.
So, going all the way back to CSX predecessor C&O days, the CSX location was called Balcony Falls. It's been years since I've been there, but there was a rather attractive depot (one-time train order station) at Balcony falls, used as a maintenance base, within sight of the James River. It was a great train watching and photo location -- as long as you had plenty of mosquito repellent.
You can do a Google search on Balcony Falls (or Glasgow), Virginia, to bring up a map of the area that includes the rail lines. Note that if you widen out the view, the two lines (NS, CSX) cross (grade separated) a short distance to the west at Natural Bridge Station.
