Bruce:
I got a little more information on the STMA today. Because of low water in Benaewah Lake some more areas that needed immediate repair were spotted and apparently these are being done on site by building sections of the trestle and cutting away the damaged portions and replacing them as they go. From what i heard they are allowed to run one or two trains a week at this point. But they ran one yesterday and another one today so......?

i guess Stimpson (the old Regulus mill) is still loading serveral cars a day for the trip to Plummer. I never did hear if the rumors of a layoff at Stimpson were true, but if they are still loading and shipping it would seem to quell this story?

The STMA has also stored a bunch of log flats south of Clarkia on the branch. I think this is a first? At least in this quantity. But it is a logical place to store them as no traffic will go further south (Bovill) and should the timber industry see a resurgence in demand, the cars will be on hand for loading at Clarkia.

Thanks for the post and if you hear any more please pass that on.
Regards,
Rolland
