On the Mina Branch, August 1984

August 1984 as the Mina Local is heading West (geographic North) between Mina and Luning. In about two years, this part of the SP would be embargoed and then abandoned. When I first posted this on Toad Odors a couple of years back, a very perceptive Alex Ramos pointed out something I had never realized. With the exception of the railroad, there is no mark of the 20th Century. No roads, no buildings, no poles, and no wires.
