That was owned by the Southern Pacific. Today it is owned by UP and leased/operated by the Portland & Western Railroad as part of its Willsburg District, and connects the rest of the P&W system to interchange with the UP.
Historically it was considered part of the Tillamook Branch, which continued from Lake Oswego to Cook, Tigard, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Banks, and over the Coast Range. At Cook, the Newberg Branch continued southwest to Tualatin, Sherwood, Newberg, Dundee, Lafayette and St. Joseph, connecting to the Westside Line (which also continued north to Hillsboro) to serve McMinnville, the Willamina Branch and beyond.
