It is amess, but might not be as difficult as one might think. Likely enough space between the washout and the hillside on solid ground to put a shoo fly to get things going. NP had three or four tracks merging into one between the washout area and old snowshed. And what a convenient place to dump the spoils from crowning the tunnel!
